There they are again!  The same flawless pendant lights that I noticed in Mr. Robot!

I did a cursory google to see if I could track down more information on this light fixture, but all I found was a similar (but not as good) version at Restoration Hardware.

Spitfire Chair

This is is a Devon Spitfire Leather Chair from Restoration Hardware.  They go for over $1000 a pop, and always remind me of the scene from The Aviator when Leo is caressing an airplane and freaking out about rivets.

I have never met a real person who owns one, but they pop up in sets all the time.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: On Trend!

Capture1.JPG

I just watched the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) for the first time and it was RIDICULOUS! That psycho family was so on trend!  Cool homes have animal skulls mounted on the walls (preferably a cow--rodents and reptiles don't count).

Chalky White's Chesterfields

Boardwalk Empire lost me half way through season three, but due to their recent Art Direction Emmy win, and the death of some tedious characters, I decided to give season four a go.

Good decision.  The first episode has scenes in the upstairs offices of Chalky White's club, and he is a fan of chesterfield sofas.

I have wanted a classic brown leather chesterfield for some time.  This sofa has perplexing duality.  It seems very formal, but invites you to sit down and relax.  It is used in the most masculine spaces, but has feminine curves.

When I think retail, my mind goes right to  Restoration Hardware, but you have to pay top dollar for that type of perfection.  The sofa to the right is about $3000, and you can't find something comparable for much cheaper (please let me know if you do).

If you are into the style, but willing to compromise, you can find less expensive options in fabric....but not cheap.

A Sink to Die For

101.JPG

I started watching this completely hilarious show called Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.   It is about a Sherlock Holmes-type flapper who solves crimes in Melbourne, Australia.

The series opens on a man dying in a gorgeous old bathroom.  I just love a good washstand sink.  I have had my eye on this Restoration Hardware model for ages, but its a bazillion dollars (on sale for $1395), and only comes in chrome or nickle (and everyone knows I live for brass).

I suppose the style isn't for  everyone.  I love all the exposed under bits, but there is no room for storage, and minimal counter space.  In reality, maybe it's more of a guest bathroom sink.
